Brazil
Born in Paris, she
studied at the National Conservatory of Music and was granted the First
Prize of Flute in 1951. In the following year, she arrived in Brazil hired
by the famous Brazilian conductor Eleazar de Carvalho to be the principal
flute of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, becoming also Professor of the
Department of Arts of the University of Brasilia in 1974.
Lately, she has dedicated
herself to the research of the baroque music of Minas Gerais and the
Brazilian music of the XIX century and early-20th century. She has today
one of the largest collections of music and references for all the
students and researchers of Brazilian music.
In her recordings "Recital",
"Brazilian Sarau" and "History of the Brazilian Flute",
are some of the most important works discovered by her research.
